Ok, so a few days ago I got my 4GB iPod nano from Freepay (previously Gratis Network). I have mostly kept it wrapped safely in its box for the past few days, only taking it out when I play with it. Why you ask? Well because this little thing is so cool looking that I don't want to mess it up before I get my case. I ordered a cheapo case on Ebay the day it arrived, but I plan on ordering an iSkin Duo for it in late October when they come out.

When I do have it out, I am nothing but impressed. This is perhaps my favorite iPod yet, it has enough space for about 1000 of my favorite songs and yet no worries about hurting the hard drive. It feels good and solid, like all of the other iPods in the line up. Never fear, the problems with the screens are mostly people who don't care properly for the iPod, and Apple will replace it if it really is a defect.
Here's the box, all wrapped up like it came...

And here it is all taken apart so you can see what's inside...

Papa 40GB, Little Bro 20GB and now baby Nano!

And here is a picture of the amazing color screen with one of the new features....the screen lock!

As with the rest of the iPod family, integration with iTunes and whatnot is flawless. I was able to transfer about 500 songs onto it in less than 5 minutes. That includes me finding the albums and picking which ones I wanted on it. Once I get my case I will be taking it all off to make more final selections, but I am not using it yet, because it would get scratched up too much.
It's a little small for my hands with no case on it, I find myself using it with two hands sometimes, rather than one just because it is easier to operate the click wheel. I don't know if this is the intention of Apple or not. The smaller click wheel may just take some getting used to I guess.
I have had no issues with the screen or scratches yet, but I have been very careful. And I am not using it in my pocket until I get a case. Once I have my iSkin I won't hesitate to slip it in my pocket though, it feels sturdy enough so that as long as you don't sit on it or stand on it it will be fine. I read a review where they drove over it with a car three times before it finally died...
If you have a choice for one single iPod, and 4GB is enough space for you definitely get this iPod. The color screen is awesome, and the flash memory appeals to me. I can jog with it, or use it while I mow the lawn and not worry about ruining the hard drive. If you carry a purse (ladies) this iPod is ideal as well, my wife is already eyeing mine, and I had to remind her that she abducted my 40GB iPod so she sure as hell wasn't getting my nano! If you need more space then 4GB, then I would say you won't like the nano simply because of it's low capacity. But seriously, you have to hold this thing in your hand to really know how cool it is.
